Welcome to St Raphael, our family run Guesthouse in the heart of York city centre. We are Fran, Jamie & Luca.
We started the guesthouse in June 2018 and haven’t looked back since. Jamie is a Yorkshireman who understands the history of this great city and Fran, like the Romans many years before, voyaged over from Italy when she was only 17 and now calls York her home.
The name St Raphael comes from Raphael who was sainted for healing the blind and sick. Some of our guests have mentioned they do feel much better while staying with us.
The building dates back to 1880 and has a wonderful charm. It has been a guesthouse since 1950 so it’s a very welcoming house. The team at St Raphael’s make sure to go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The attention to detail, good hearty breakfasts and the little extra touches are what make their guests come back time and time again.
